Republican Incumbent Sununu Defeats Buckey, Loses to Shaheen: In an election for United States Senate in New Hampshire today, 11/05/07, one year to the vote, incumbent Republican John Sununu is re-elected when facing Democratic challenger Jay Buckey, but is defeated when facing Democratic challenger Jeanne Shaheen, according to this SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for Roll Call, the newspaper of Capitol Hill. Sununu defeats Buckey by 13 points, 49% to 36% today. Sununu loses to Shaheen by 11 points, 53% to 42% today. With Shaheen on the ballot, 90% of Democrats, 53% of Independents and 59% of women vote Democratic. With Buckey on the ballot, 69% of Democrats, 32% of Independents and 38% of women vote Democratic. Shaheen carries Moderate voters by 35 points. Buckey carries Moderate voters by 4 points.
