Democratic Primary: In a Democratic Primary for Arkansas Lieutenant Governor today, 4/11/06, Bill Halter wins, according to a SurveyUSA poll of 446 Likely Democratic Primary Voters conducted exclusively for KTHV-TV Little Rock. The Primary is in 6 weeks, on 5/23/06. Halter gets 33% of the Democratic Primary vote. Tim Woolridge gets 15%. Mike Hathorn gets 14%. Jay Martin trails with 7%. 31% of Democratic Primary voters are undecided, enough to fundamentally change the complexion of the race if they coalesce behind one particular candidate.

Republican Primary: In a Republican Primary for Arkansas Lieutenant Governor today, 4/11/06, Jim Holt wins, according to a SurveyUSA poll of 353 likely Republican primary voters conducted exclusively for KTHV-TV Little Rock. The Primary is in 6 weeks, on 5/23/06. Holt gets 59% of the Republican Primary vote. Chuck Banks is a distant second with 12%. Doug Matayo gets 7%. 22% are undecided. Holt is an Arkansas state Senator who lost a statewide race to U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln in 2004.

Filtering: 2,000 Arkansas adults were interviewed 4/8/06 - 4/10/06. Of them, 1,634 were registered voters. Of them, 799 were judged to be "likely voters". Of them, 446 chose a Democratic ballot and 353 chose a Republican ballot. Crosstabs reflect Likely Primary voters.
