Analysis: In a Democratic Primary in Ohio's 13th Congressional District today, 4/13/06, Tom Sawyer tops a crowded field, barely, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for WKYC-TV Cleveland. Sawyer leads with 24% of the vote. Capri Cafaro is in 2nd place at 21%. Gary Kucinich gets 15%. Betty Sutton gets 13%. Bill Grace gets 10%. 10% prefer some other candidate. 8% are undecided. Because of the number of candidates, and the lack of a prohibitive frontrunner, much movement is possible in the 19 days until the Primary, which is 5/2/06. The House Seat in Ohio's 13th District is open. Incumbent Democrat Sherrod Brown is running for U.S. Senator this year.

Filtering: 1,800 adults from Ohio's 13th Congressional District were interviewed 4/10/06 - 4/12/06. Of them, 1,637 were Registered Voters. Of them, 902 were judged to be "likely voters". Of them, 498 chose a Democratic party ballot. Crosstabs reflect Likely Democratic Primary Voters.
