Republican Incumbent Musgrave Clings to 4-Point Lead in CO4: In an election for the U.S. House of Representatives today, 9/21/06, in Colorado's 4th Congressional District, incumbent Republican Marilyn Musgrave defeats Democratic challenger Angie Paccione, but just barely, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for KUSA-TV Denver. 7 weeks from the 11/7/06 general election, Musgrave gets 46% of the vote. Paccione gets 42%. The percentages are unchanged from an identical SurveyUSA KUSA-TV poll released 5 weeks ago, on 8/16/06. No significant movement is seen in any demographic subgroup. Musgrave gets 80% of Republican votes. Paccione gets 85% of Democrat votes. Independents favor Paccione 5:3. Republicans outnumber Democrats among likely voters by 46% to 29%. Paccione runs strongly among the most educated voters: she leads by 23 among those who have attended graduate school. Musgrave leads 14:1 among those who approve of President Bush's performance in office. Paccione leads 5:1 among those who disapprove of Bush. President George W. Bush's approval rating among likely voters in Colorado's 4th Congressional District is 44%. Democrats have targeted Musgrave as they attempt to re-capture control of the U.S. House.
