Republican Tiahrt Re-elected by 2:1 in KS4: In an election in Kansas's 4th Congressional District today, 9/21/06, incumbent Republican Todd Tiahrt defeats Democratic challenger Garth McGinn 63% to 30%, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for KWCH-TV Wichita. Tiahrt wins 11:1 among Republicans. McGinn wins 4:1 among Democrats. Independents favor Tiahrt 2:1. Republicans outnumber Democrats 2:1 among KS4 likely voters. Tiahrt wins 91% to 5% among those who approve of President George W. Bush's performance in office. Those who disapprove of Bush favor McGinn, 67% to 23%. President Bush's approval rating among KS4 likely voters is 54%. Tiahrt was first elected to Congress in 1994. The election is on 11/7/06.

Filtering: 1,000 adults from Kansas's 4th Congressional District were interviewed 9/18/06 - 9/20/06. Of them, 815 were registered to vote. Of them, 458 were judged to be "likely" voters. Crosstabs reflect Likely Voters.
