Democrat Morrison Ousts Incumbent Republican Kline for Kansas Attorney General: In an election for Attorney General of Kansas today, 11/5/06, Democratic challenger Paul Morrison defeats Republican incumbent Phill Kline, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for KCTV-TV Kansas City and KWCH-TV Wichita. Three weeks ago, Morrison led 56% to 43%. Today, Morrison leads 56% to 43%. Identical. 88% of Democrats vote Democrat. 69% of Republicans vote Republican. 30% of Republicans cross-over. Independents break 2:1 for the Democrat. Morrison leads in rural Kansas, in suburban Kansas and in urban Kansas.

Incumbents Re-Elected in Contests for KS Governor, Secretary of State, Insurance Commissioner, Treasurer: Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of State Ron Thornburgh, Treasurer Lynn Jenkins and Insurance Commissioner Sandy Praeger are all returned to office by Kansas voters, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for KCTV-TV Kansas City and KWCH-TV Wichita. Sebelius is a Democrat. Thornburgh, Jenkins and Praeger are Republicans.

Filtering: 900 Kansas adults were interviewed 11/2/06 through 11/4/06. Of them, 728 were registered to vote. Of them, 511 were judged to be "likely" voters for the Governor's contest. 503 were judged to be "likely" voters for Attorney General. 501 were judged to be "likely" voters for Secretary of State. 495 were judged to be "likely" voters for Treasurer. 495 were judged to be "likely" voters for Insurance Commissioner.
