Analysis: In an election today, 7/18/2006, in Arkansas's 2nd Congressional District, Democrat incumbent Vic Snyder handily defeats Republican Andy Mayberry 58% to 38%, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for KTHV-TV Little Rock. The election is on November 7, 16 weeks from today. Snyder leads among both men and women as well as all age groups. Republicans are more likely to cross over and support Snyder, with 18% of Republicans doing so, compared to 10% of Democrats who support Mayberry. Mayberry wins 2:1 among Conservatives, but Snyder wins 78% of Moderates. President Bush has a 38% approval rating among likely voters in the district.

Filtering: 1000 adults from Arkansas's 2nd Congressional District were interviewed 7/15/2006 to 7/17/2006. Of them, 876 were registered to vote. Of them, 473 were judged to be "likely voters". Crosstabs reflect likely voters.
