Analysis: In a Republican Primary in Michigan today, 7/10/06, Mike Bouchard wins the Republican nomination for the United States Senate by 2:1 over Keith Butler, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted for WDIV-TV Detroit and WZZM-TV Grand Rapids. 29 days to the 8/8/06 Primary, it's Bouchard 51%, Butler 25%. An unusually large 25% of Likely Voters are undecided. Bouchard wins all demographic subgroups. Butler runs relatively strongly among Independents, among the most educated voters, and in the Grand Rapids area. The winner will face incumbent Democrat Debbie Stabenow in the 11/7/06 General Election.

Filtering: 2,400 Michigan adults were interviewed 7/7//06 - 7/9/06. Of them, 2,188 were registered to vote. Of them, 1,260 were judged to be "likely" voters. Of them, 443 chose a Republican Primary ballot. Crosstabs reflect likely Republican Primary voters.
