Gibbons Wins NV Republican Gov Primary: On the eve of the 8/15/06 Republican Primary for Governor of Nevada, Congressman Jim Gibbons wins comfortably, according to an exclusive SurveyUSA poll conducted for KVBC-TV Las Vegas. Gibbons gets 47% of the vote, up 3 points from an identical poll 7/17/06. Nevada State Senator Bob Beers gets 25%, up 2 points. Lieutenant Governor Lorraine Hunt gets 17%, up 1 point. Gibbons leads by 13 points in the Las Vegas area and by 37 points in the rest of Nevada. Incumbent Republican Governor Kenny Guinn is term-limited. President George W. Bush's approval rating among likely Republican Primary voters in Nevada is 72%.

Titus Wins Going Away in NV Democratic Gov Primary: On the eve of the 8/15/06 Democratic Primary for Governor of Nevada, Dina Titus easily defeats Jim Gibson, according to an exclusive SurveyUSA poll conducted for KVBC-TV Las Vegas. Titus, a Nevada State Senator, gets 57%, up 15 points from last month. Gibson, who is the Mayor of the City of Henderson, gets 33%, down 6 points. Leola McConnell trails with 3%, down 3 points. President George W. Bush's approval rating among likely Democratic Primary voters in Nevada is 10%.

Filtering: 3,000 Nevada adults were interviewed 8/11/06 - 8/13/06. Of them, 2,336 were registered to vote, including 954 Republicans and 926 Democrats. 575 Republicans were judged to be "likely" voters. 548 Democrats were judged to be "likely" voters. Crosstabs reflect Likely Primary Voters.
