Halter Wins Lt. Gov. runoff: In a Democratic runoff election for Arkansas Lieutenant Governor today, 6/12/06, Bill Halter beats Tim Wooldridge 60% to 35%, according to an exclusive SurveyUSA poll conducted for KTHV-TV Little Rock. With 1 day to go, Halter's 25-point lead is unchanged from an identical SurveyUSA KTHV-TV poll 1 week ago. Halter leads by 42 points in the Little Rock area (which includes the city of Little Rock and 36 central Arkansas counties) and by 4 points in the rest of Arkansas. Wooldridge does relatively best among conservatives, where he trails by 4 points. In the Primary on 5/23/06, Halter had 40% of the vote and Wooldridge had 26%. Halter will face Republican Jim Holt in November.

McDaniel Has Slight Edge in Attorney General Runoff: In a Democratic runoff election for Arkansas Attorney General today, 6/12/06, Dustin McDaniel leads Paul Suskie by 5 points, according to an exclusive SurveyUSA poll conducted for KTHV-TV Little Rock. On the eve of the 6/13/06 runoff, McDaniel gets 51% of the vote, up 3 points from a week ago. Suskie gets 46%, down 1 point. Suskie leads by 9 points in the Little Rock area. McDaniel leads by 25 points in the rest of Arkansas. McDaniel's margin comes from liberals, among whom he leads by 21 points. In the Primary on 5/23/06, McDaniel had 38% of the vote and Suskie had 32%. The winner in tomorrow's runoff will face Republican Gunner DeLay in November.

Filtering: 2,000 Arkansas adults were interviewed 6/9/06 to 6/11/06. Of them, 1,651 were registered to vote. Of them, 439 were judged to be "likely voters" in the Lieutenant Governor Democratic runoff. 455 were judged to be "likely voters" in the Attorney General Democratic runoff.
