Istook's OK House Seat Will Stay Republican; Fallin Flyin': In an election for the U.S. House of Representatives in Oklahoma's 5th Congressional District today, 11/1/06, Republican Mary Fallin defeats Democrat David Hunter 59% to 37%, according to a SurveyUSA poll of 430 Likely Voters conducted exclusively for KFOR-TV Oklahoma City. Fallin is currently Oklahoma's Lieutenant Governor. Incumbent Republican Ernest Istook, who is running for Governor this year, was first elected to Congress in 1992.

Filtering: 900 adults from Oklahoma's 5th Congressional District were interviewed 10/29/06 through 10/31/06. Of them, 715 were registered to vote. Of them, 430 were judged to be "likely" voters. Crosstabs reflect Likely Voters.
