The state of Oregon views John McCain differently than it does other Republicans, according to research conducted for KATU-TV Portland. In 8 head-to-head Presidential pairings, Republicans lose blue-state Oregon by 13 to 23 points -- unless the Republican candidate is John McCain, in which case McCain ties Barack Obama 47% to 47%, and defeats Hillary Clinton 49% to 45%. Research conducted 01/11/08 through 01/13/08, after voting in Iowa and New Hampshire, before voting in Michigan, Nevada and South Carolina. |
