Incumbent NH Governor Lynch 3:1 Atop Republican Challenger: In an election for Governor of New Hampshire today, 9/19/2006, incumbent Democrat John Lynch overwhelmingly defeats Republican challenger Jim Coburn, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for WBZ-TV Boston and WCSH-TV Portland. 7 weeks to the 11/7/06 election, Lynch gets 73% of the vote. Coburn gets 23%, 50 points behind. Lynch gets 97% of Democrat votes and 79% of Independent votes. 43% of Republicans cross over to vote for the Democrat Lynch. Lynch leads by 2:1 among men and by 5:1 among women. Those who approve of President Bush's performance in office support Coburn 5:4. Those who disapprove of Bush support Lynch 20:1.

Filtering: 900 New Hampshire adults were interviewed 9/16/06 - 9/18/06. Of them, 748 were registered to vote. Of them, 458 were judged to be "likely voters." Crosstabs reflect Likely Voters.
