In NY29, Trouble for Incumbent Republican Kuhl in Re-Match with Democratic Challenger Massa: In an election for US House of Representatives from New York's 29th Congressional District today, 10/06/08, four weeks till votes are counted, Democratic challenger Eric Massa has a slight edge in his rematch with incumbent Republican Randy Kuhl, and is positioned to re-capture this House seat for the Democrats. Massa edges Kuhl 51% to 44% today, in a district that Barack Obama and John McCain split.

Kuhl runs strong among men and Conservatives. But Massa picks-off 21% of Republicans, who cross-over to vote Democrat. Combined with a 22-point lead among women, and a 2:1 advantage among Moderates, Massa may hold on if Obama's coat-tails are long enough to carry him, and Democrats like him, into office.

Massa has Plus 11 Favorability. Kuhl has Minus 8. McCain has Plus 12 Favorability. Obama has Plus 8. President Bush has a 28% job approval. Congress has a 12% job approval.
