Governor Primary: In a Republican Primary in Florida today, 6/12/06, Florida Attorney General Charlie Crist wins the nomination for Governor, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted for WFLA-TV Tampa, WFOR-TV Miami, WKRG-TV Pensacola, WPTV-TV West Palm Beach, and WTLV-TV Jacksonville. 12 weeks from the 9/5/06 Primary, Crist gets 52%, to 21% for Florida CFO Tom Gallagher. Crist leads all demographic groups. Gallagher does relatively best among young voters, liberals, and those who disapprove of President Bush.

Senate Primary: In a Republican Primary in Florida today, 6/12/06, Congresswoman Katherine Harris wins the nomination for United States Senator, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted for WFLA-TV Tampa, WFOR-TV Miami, WKRG-TV Pensacola, WPTV-TV West Palm Beach, and WTLV-TV Jacksonville. Harris gets 50% of the vote. Will McBride gets 12%. LeRoy Collins gets 7%. Peter Monroe gets 4%. Harris beats McBride by 44 points among Republican Primary voters who approve of President Bush, but only wins by 16 points among those who disapprove of President Bush. The Primary is in 12 weeks, on 9/5/06.

Filtering: 2,500 Florida adults were interviewed 6/9/06 - 6/11/06. Of them, 2,164 were registered to vote. Of them, 825 were Republicans. Of them, 410 were judged to be "likely voters". Crosstabs reflect Likely Republican Primary Voters.
