Henry Re-elected By 2:1, OK Statehouse Stays Safely Democrat: In an election for Governor in Oklahoma today, 10/24/06, incumbent Democrat Brad Henry defeats Republican challenger Ernest Istook 64% to 32%, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for KFOR-TV Oklahoma City. Since an identical SurveyUSA KFOR-TV poll released 9/26/06, Istook has lost a statistically insignificant 1 point, Henry has held steady. Henry leads by 47 points among women and 17 points among men, a 30-point "gender gap." Henry leads among all demographic groups. 90% of Democrats vote for Henry. 60% of Republicans vote for Istook. 36% of Republicans cross over and vote for the Democrat Henry. The incumbent Lieutenant Governor is Republican Mary Fallin, who is now running to succeed Ernest Istook as Representative from Oklahoma's 5th Congressional District.
