Write-in Wilson Wins Democratic Primary in 6th CD: In a Democratic primary in Ohio's 6th Congressional District today, 4/20/06, write-in candidate Charlie Wilson wins overwhelmingly, according to an exclusive SurveyUSA poll conducted for WYTV-TV Youngstown. 54% of the likely Democratic Primary voters write in Wilson's name. 9% vote for Bob Carr. 6% vote for John Luchansky. 3% write in some other name. 28% are undecided. The election is in 12 days, on 5/2/06. Incumbent Democratic Congressman Ted Strickland is running for Ohio Governor this year.

Blasdel Tops Republican Field: On the Republican side, Chuck Blasdel easily defeats 3 other candidates. Blasdel gets 41% of the likely Republican primary voters. Tim Ginter and Danny Harmon tie for 2nd at 11%. Dick Stobbs trails with 2%. 21% prefer some other candidate. 14% are undecided.

Filtering: 1,400 registered voters from Ohio's 6th Congressional District, identified using Registration Based Sample from Aristotle International, were interviewed 4/17/06 - 4/19/06. Of them, 834 were judged to be "likely voters". Of them, 476 chose to vote in the Democratic Primary and 358 chose to vote in the Republican Primary. Democratic Primary voters were given the option to provide the name of a write-in candidate. Republican Primary voters were not given this option. Crosstabs reflect likely voters.
