Fenty Tops Cropp in D.C. Mayoral Primary: In a Democratic Primary for Mayor of Washington, DC today, 8/15/06, Adrian Fenty defeats Linda Cropp 48% to 27%, according to an exclusive SurveyUSA poll conducted for WUSA-TV Washington, DC. None of the other five candidates gets more than 7% of the votes. 4 weeks to the 9/12/06 Primary, 7% of likely voters are undecided. Fenty does best among likely voters under age 35, the least reliable voters. Cropp does best among likely voters age 65 and over, the most reliable voters. The winner of the Democratic Primary will be heavily favored in the 11/7/06 general election.

Filtering: 1,200 District of Columbia adults were interviewed 8/12/06 - 8/14/06. Of them, 993 were registered to vote. Of them, 743 were Democrats. Of them, 490 were judged to be "likely voters." Crosstabs reflect Likely Democratic Primary Voters.
