Bouchard Poised to Capture GOP Nomination in MI Senate Primary: On the eve of the Republican Primary for U.S. Senate in Michigan, Mike Bouchard appears poised to defeat Keith Butler, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted for WDIV-TV Detroit and WZZM-TV Grand Rapids. 12 Hours till polls open, it's Bouchard 56%, Butler 33%. 12% are undecided, more than usual this close to the actual vote. Bouchard leads among both men and women, leads in all age groups, and leads among all education and income levels. The winner will face incumbent Democrat Debbie Stabenow in the 11/7/06 General Election. Compared to an identical SurveyUSA poll released one month ago, on 7/10/06, Bouchard is up 5 points, Butler is up 8 points. Bouchard had led by 26, now leads by 23.
