| Oregon Supports Laws to Limit Ammo Sales and Clip Capacity, Wants Stricter Enforcement of Existing Gun Laws:
Oregon adults are of mixed minds on the issue of gun control, according to this latest SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for KATU News in Portland. Oregonians support new laws that would limit the number of bullets that can be loaded into a magazine at any one time by a 21-point margin, and support new laws that would limit the amount of ammunition that a person can buy at one time by a 17-point margin, but split over whether or not there should be a national ban on semi-automatic weapons. Asked if gun violence would be more reduced by the passing of new laws or by better enforcement of existing laws, Oregon by more than 2:1 favors the stricter enforcement of existing laws. Asked whether it is more important to protect the right of Americans to own guns or to control gun ownership, Oregon chooses the right to own guns by a 13-point margin. Full results follow. |
