| NC US Senate: Incumbent Burr Further Solidifies GOP Advantage in Race Against Democrat Marshall: In an election for US Senator from North Carolina today, 09/14/10, 1 month before one stop early voting begins, incumbent Republican Richard Burr defeats Democrat Elaine Marshall 58% to 34%, according to this latest SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for WRAL-TV in Raleigh.
Compared to a SurveyUSA poll released 2 months ago, Burr is up 12 points; Marshall is down 2. Burr now is above 60% among men, middle aged voters, and whites, as well as in greater Charlotte and western NC. 5% of Republicans cross over to vote for Marshall, unchanged from previous polls; 27% of Democrats cross over to vote for Burr, twice as many as did two months ago. Marshall, currently Secretary of State, is today above 50% only among Democrats, liberals, African Americans, those with unfavorable opinions of the tea party, pro-choice voters, and those who do not own guns, all of which are minorities in the 2010 NC electorate. |
| Filtering: SurveyUSA interviewed 1,000 North Carolina adults 09/10/10 through 09/13/10. Of them, 862 were registered to vote.
