Results of SurveyUSA Mkt Research Study #25049

475 adults from the city of Wichita were interviewed by SurveyUSA 12/10/19 through 12/16/19, exclusively for the Kansas Policy Institute. Of the adults, 409 were registered to vote and were asked the questions which follow. This research was conducted using blended sample, mixed mode. Respondents reachable on a home telephone (42% of registered voters) were interviewed on their home telephone in the recorded voice of a professional announcer. Respondents not reachable on a home telephone (58% of registered voters) were shown a questionnaire on their smartphone, tablet, or other electronic device.

In general, do you agree? Or disagree? With the idea of local governments using taxpayer money to provide subsidies to certain businesses for economic development?

3The city previously proposed a specific "deal-closing" fund to attract new businesses to the city. Would you personally be willing to pay higher taxes to pay for such an idea?

6What should be the first priority of the new mayor and city council in 2020? Lowering taxes? More efficient spending? Reforming Regulations? Redeveloping the downtown and riverfront area(s)? Securing long-term water infrastructure? Developing new infrastructure? Maintaining existing infrastructure? Or something else?
