| Los Angeles: Stay-at-Home, Work-Outside-Home Moms Equally Respected; Stay-at-Home Best for Children; Favorable Opinions of Michelle Obama, Ann Romney, But Negative Opinion of Hilary Rosen:
SurveyUSA interviewed 500 Los Angeles-area adults exclusively for KABC-TV in the wake of Democratic consultant Hilary Rosen's comment about Ann Romney. 55% of Los Angeles-area adults say both stay-at-home mothers and mothers who work outside the home are equally respected by society; 28% say mothers working outside the home are more respected; 16% say mothers who stay at home receive more respect. Those in households with stay-at-home mothers are significantly more likely than others to find mothers who work outside the home get more respect. 59% say stay-at-home mothers are best for children; 9% say working mothers are better; 27% say it makes no difference. SurveyUSA then asked respondents if they had a favorable, unfavorable, neutral, or no opinion of Michelle Obama, of Ann Romney, and of Hilary Rosen. Subtracting a person's unfavorable rating from her favorable rating produces a Net Favorability number. Net favorability numbers, the percent of adults with a neutral opinion, and the percent of voters with no opinion on each person follow:
