King County Women Break For Constantine, Who Overtakes Hutchison in Race for King County WA Executive: 24 hours until votes are counted in the race for King County Executive, Dow Constantine appears to overtake Susan Hutchison, according to SurveyUSA's 4th and final tracking poll for KING-TV. Today, it's: Constantine 53%, Hutchison 43%, a 15-point swing to Constantine from SurveyUSA's most recent poll 3 weeks ago, when Hutchison lead by 5.

On 10/13/09, women split. Today, women break 3:2 for Constantine and propel him to the finish line. Constantine leads by 12 among the 60% of voters who tell SurveyUSA they have already returned a ballot. Hutchison would need to carry procrastinators by 14 or more points to win. Hutchison has an overwhelming advantage among Republicans and conservatives, a 12-point lead among the less educated, and a slight edge among independents. But Constantine leads overwhelmingly among liberals and Democrats, and by double digits among younger voters, whites, moderates, the more educated and the more affluent. The two candidates are even among seniors.

Filtering: SurveyUSA interviewed 800 King County adults 10/30/09 through 11/01/09. Of them, 725 identified themselves as being registered to vote. Of the registered voters, 614 were determined by SurveyUSA to be likely to vote in the election, which is being conducted entirely by mail.
