1 in 5 CO Republicans Reconsider A McInnis Vote in GOP Governor Primary:

SurveyUSA interviewed Colorado Republicans about GOP candidate for Governor Scott McInnis. Of Republicans who have heard the news stories:

* 39% say they had been supporting McInnis and still are supporting McInnis.
* 24% say they had been supporting someone else and still are supporting someone else.
* 20% say they had been supporting McInnis but now will support someone else.

* 48% of Republicans familiar with the story say McInnis should continue to seek the Republican nomination.
* 37% say McInnis should withdraw from the contest.

When all CO Republicans are asked which of 6 Republicans would be the strongest candidate for Governor, Tom Tancredo finishes ahead of McInnis and 4 others.

Filtering: In research conducted exclusively for the Denver Post, SurveyUSA interviewed 1,181 Colorado registered voters 07/15/10. Of the 1,181 registered voters, 429 were registered Republicans. Of the 429 Republicans, 313 (73%) had heard news stories about McInnis .
