Cantwell Overwhelming Winner in WA Democratic Senate Primary: In a Democratic Primary held in the state of Washington today, 8/14/06, incumbent Democratic Senator Maria Cantwell easily advances to the November General election, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for KING-TV Seattle. Cantwell gets 90% of the vote in the Democratic Primary. None of her four challengers get more than 3%. The last date to vote in the Washington Primary is 9/19/06. President Bush's approval rating is 4% among Likely WA Democratic Primary voters.
 
McGavick Wins Easily in WA Republican Senate Primary: In a Republican Primary held in the state of Washington today, 8/14/06, Mike McGavick wins the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate from the state of Washington, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for KING-TV Seattle. McGavick gets 66% of the Republican Primary vote. None of his five challengers top 6%. 19% remain undecided. The last date to vote in the Washington Primary is 9/19/06.
 
Filtering: 2,100 Washington adults were interviewed 8/11/06 - 8/13/06. Of them, 1,709 were registered to vote. Of them, 706 were judged to be "likely voters": 405 chose to vote in the Democratic Primary, and 301 chose to vote in the Republican Primary. Crosstabs reflect Likely Primary Voters.
