| Governor Primary: In a Republican Primary in Florida today, 7/11/06, Florida Attorney General Charlie Crist wins the nomination for Governor, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted for WFLA-TV Tampa, WFOR-TV Miami, WKRG-TV Pensacola, WPTV-TV West Palm Beach, and WTLV-TV Jacksonville. 8 weeks from the 9/5/06 Primary, Crist gets 61%, to 23% for Florida CFO Tom Gallagher. Since an identical poll 1 month ago, Crist has gained 9 points while Gallagher has gained 2 points. Crist leads all demographic groups. Gallagher does relatively best among voters with a college degree, and in Southeastern FL. |
| Senate Primary: In a Republican Primary in Florida today, 7/11/06, Congresswoman Katherine Harris wins the nomination for United States Senator, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted for WFLA-TV Tampa, WFOR-TV Miami, WKRG-TV Pensacola, WPTV-TV West Palm Beach, and WTLV-TV Jacksonville. Harris gets 51% of the vote. Will McBride gets 14%. LeRoy Collins gets 8%. Peter Monroe gets 3%. In the last month, Harris has gained 1 point, and McBride has gained 2 points. Harris beats McBride by 43 points among Republican Primary voters who approve of President Bush, but only wins by 1 point among those who disapprove of President Bush. The Primary is in 8 weeks, on 9/5/06. |
