KS-01: Free-For-All in The First: In a Republican Primary today 06/22/10 for the open US House of Representatives seat from Kansas' 1st Congressional District, 3 candidates finish within 5 points of one another, each with a chance at the GOP nomination, according to this SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for KWCH-TV Wichita.

3 weeks until voting begins and 6 weeks until votes are counted:
State Senator Jim Barnett is at 23%, unchanged from a SurveyUSA poll 4 months ago.
Realtor Tracey Mann is at 20%, up from 4%.
State Senator Tim Huelskamp is at 18%, up from 16%.

Other candidates are further back: Rob Wasinger, former Chief of Staff to Senator Sam Brownback, gets 11% today, up from 8%; college instructor Sue Boldra is at 8%, up from 5%; attorney Marck Cobb gets 2%. 16% of likely voters are undecided.

The Republican primary winner will face Democrat Alan Jilka, former mayor of Salinas, in November. Incumbent Republican Representative Jerry Moran is running for United States Senate and is not seeking reelection.

 
Filtering: SurveyUSA interviewed 1,500 Kansas adults 06/18/10 through 06/21/10. Of them, 1,301 were registered to vote. Of the registered voters, 475 were determined by SurveyUSA to be likely voters in the August 2010 Republican Primary. Advance voting begins July 14.
