Results of SurveyUSA Election Poll #14739

In MN6, Home Stretch, Republican Bachmann and Democrat Tinklenberg Tied: 72 hours until votes are counted in Minnesota's 6th Congressional District, DFL challenger Elwyn Tinklenberg and incumbent Republican Michele Bachmann are effectively tied; no more precise prediction is warranted or possible. Compared to a KSTP-TV SurveyUSA poll one week ago, conducted immediately after comments by Bachmann drew national attention, the candidates have nominally traded places, but the tracking graphs are remarkably stable. Republicans have raised large sums in the past 2 days, to offset large sums raised by the Democrats the week before. Impact of any ads newly placed in the campaign's final hours would not be reflected in these numbers. 700 registered voters from the district were interviewed 10/29/08 and 10/30/08, using Registration Based Sample (RBS) from Aristotle of Washington DC. Of the registered voters, 621 were determined by SurveyUSA to be likely to vote on or before the November 4 general election.
