Opposition to Putting Fluoride in Wichita Drinking Water Softens; Ballot Measure Now Leads by 12 Points:
In a referendum today, 10/11/12, the city of Wichita passes 47% to 35% a ballot question that would add fluoride to the city's water supply, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted for KWCH-TV. Compared to an identical SurveyUSA poll 2 weeks ago, support for the measure is comparatively flat: it was 46% two weeks ago, and is 47% today. But opposition to the measure has fallen 5 points, from 40% two weeks ago to 35% today. The net effect: Yes had led by 6 points, now leads by 12 points. Among voters age 18 to 49, Yes had led by 2 points, but now leads by 25 points. Among Republicans, the measure had trailed by 8 points, now leads by 6 points. Cell-phone and home-phone respondents were included in this research. |
