| Analysis: In a citywide election in Seattle today, 11/2/05, the Monorail Measure is defeated 3:2, and four City Council incumbents are re-elected, according to a SurveyUSA poll of 549 likely Seattle voters, conducted exclusively for KING-TV. Election day is 11/8. The Monorail Measure is rejected today 58% to 40%, virtually unchanged from a SurveyUSA KING-TV poll 4 weeks ago. The Monorail is supported only by liberals and by voters under age 35. For City Council Position 2, incumbent Richard Conlin defeats challenger Paige Miller 49% to 37%. Conlin had led by 5, now by 12. For City Council Position 4, incumbent Jan Drago today defeats challenger Casey Corr 54% to 34%. Drago had led by 17, now by 20. For City Council Position 6, incumbent Nick Licata beats challenger Paul Bascomb 65% to 22%. For City Council Position 8, incumbent Richard McIver today defeats challenger Dwight Pelz 50% to 34%. 4 weeks ago, McIver led by 17, now by 16. In the City Council races, 12% to 15% of likely voters remain undecided. |
| Filtering: 1,200 Seattle adults were interviewed 10/30/05 - 11/1/05. Of them, 1,045 were registered voters. Of them, 549 were judged to be "likely" voters on the Monorail Measure. 476 were judged to be "likely" voters on the City Council Position 2 contest. 486 were judged to be "likely" voters on the City Council Position 4 contest. 468 were judged to be "likely" voters on the City Council Position 6 contest. 465 were judged to be "likely" voters on the City Council Position 8 contest.
