NJ RESIDENTS BY 5:4 SAY GOVERNOR SHOULD REIMBURSE STATE FOR COST OF HOSPITALIZATION: New Jersey residents by 5:4 say NJ Governor Jon Corzine, critically injured in a car accident when not wearing a seatbelt, should reimburse the state for the cost of his medical care, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted for WABC-TV New York City and WCAU-TV Philadelphia. 49% statewide say Corzine should pay for the cost of his care. 37% say he should not. Two others in the car with Corzine, both wearing seatbelts, were not injured. Corzine broke 15 bones, suffered internal injuries and lost half the blood in his body. He was hospitalized on a ventilator. A NJ state trooper driving Corzine's SUV allowed the Governor to ride in the front seat without a safety belt. 14% say the trooper should lose his job. 32% say the trooper should be reprimanded. 47% say the trooper should be given a traffic ticket. 7% say the trooper should not be punished. 85% in NJ say there was no justification for the trooper to be driving 91 miles-an-hour at the time of the crash. Corzine was headed to a meeting with the Rutgers women's basketball team and Radio DJ Don Imus. 91% say Corzine should be ticketed for breaking NJ law.
