No Traction for Figures in Alabama US Senate Race: In an election for United States Senator from Alabama today, 10/10/08, incumbent Republican Jeff Sessions defeats Democratic State Senator Vivian Davis Figures to win his third term in office, according to this latest exclusive WKRG-TV poll conducted by SurveyUSA. Today, it's Sessions 64%, Figures 33%, essentially unchanged from an identical SurveyUSA poll released three weeks ago.

Sessions takes 7 of 10 male votes, 6 of 10 female votes, and wins majorities among all age groups. Sessions takes 3 of 4 white votes; Figures takes 3 of 4 black votes. 24% of Democrats cross over to vote for Sessions; 10% of Republicans cross over to vote for Figures.

 
Filtering: SurveyUSA interviewed 900 Alabama adults 10/08/08 and 10/09/08. Of the adults, 831 were registered to vote. Of the registered voters, 697 were determined by SurveyUSA to be likely voters in the 11/04/08 general election.
