Results of SurveyUSA News Poll #15132
By 2:1 Margin, New York Disapproves of Paterson Performance as Governor: 66% of New York State adults today say they disapprove of the job performance of Governor David Paterson, according to this latest SurveyUSA tracking poll conducted exclusively for WABC-TV New York, WNYT-TV Albany, and WHEC-TV Rochester. 30% say they approve of the job Paterson is doing as governor.

One month ago, 54% of New York adults approved of Paterson's performance as Governor.

Subtracting disapproval from approval yields Paterson's Net Job Approval, which today is Minus 36, the lowest since Paterson took office. Eliot Spitzer, who preceded Paterson in office and who resigned in March of 2008, never received less than a Minus 23 in SurveyUSA tracking, although caution is warranted in making this comparison: little time elapsed between the first reports of Spitzer's involvement with a prostitute and Spitzer's resignation, meaning the final tracking numbers on Spitzer's job performance likely do not fully incorporate those reports, as not all respondents would have been aware at the time the final polls were conducted.
