| Broad Agreement in NYC With Bloomberg Gun Comments, Additional Gun Laws: 76% of New York City adults say they agree with Mayor Michael Bloomberg's statement that the candidates running for president should say more about what they will do to control gun violence, according to this latest SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for WABC-TV. 21% disagree. 75% agree with Bloomberg's comment that police officers around the country should put pressure on lawmakers to pass stronger laws to control gun violence; 21% disagree.
* 71% would support a semi-automatic weapon ban. Cell-phone and home-phone respondents included in this research: SurveyUSA interviewed 500 adults 07/26/12. This research was conducted using blended sample, mixed mode. Respondents reachable on a home telephone (73% of adults) were interviewed on their home telephone in the recorded voice of a professional announcer. Respondents not reachable on a home telephone (27% of adults) were shown a questionnaire on their smartphone, tablet or other electronic device. |
