Gregoire, Rossi Tie in '04 Rematch: In an election held today for Governor of Washington State, Christine Gregoire and Dino Rossi are tied among Registered Voters, according to this latest exclusive KING-TV news poll conducted by SurveyUSA. Today, incumbent Democrat Christine Gregoire takes 48% of the vote; Republican Dino Rossi takes 47%, a statistical tie. Rossi leads by 18 points among men; Gregoire by 18 points among women -- a 36 point gender gap. Gregoire holds 80% of the Democratic base; 18% of Democrats vote for Rossi. Rossi takes 92% of Republican votes. Independents favor Gregoire by 10 points. Gregoire leads by 5 in Western Washington; Rossi by 9 in the Eastern portion of the state.
 
Obama Leads McCain, McCain Ties Clinton: Checking in on the November election for President, Washington voters today are split between Republican John McCain and Democrat Hillary Clinton, with 46% voting McCain and 45% Clinton if the election were held today. Three weeks ago, Clinton led McCain by 5 points. If Barack Obama were the Democratic nominee, he would defeat John McCain by 7 points today, down from 11 three weeks ago.
 
Filtering: 700 state of Washington adults were interviewed by SurveyUSA 04/07/08. Of them, 607 were registered to vote. Interviews were conducted of registered voters.
