Report Card: 2007 Kansas City MO Mayor Election = A+
Municipal elections present challenges for opinoin pollsters that extend well beyond the challenges of polling a statewide contest, including:
Irregular boundaries that require the pollster to confirm that the respondent is in fact eligible to vote in the contest.
Exceptionally low turnout, characteristic of stand-alone municipal elections that do not coinccide with a high-profile election for statewide office, a Mid-Term Congressional election, or a Presidential election.
In this contest, Funkhouser won by a total of 850 votes.
SurveyUSA is proud of the work it did for KCTV-TV, the Meredith owned station in Kansas City. KCTV was the only media company to spend money to poll the contest.
