Just Another Cyber Monday…But Identity Theft a Real Fear in Tampa

On this “Cyber Monday” evening, 74% of Tampa-area adults tell SurveyUSA they’ve purchased something online. Despite how widespread internet shopping is, large numbers worry about identity theft:

- 55% say they are “very concerned” about identity theft when making an online purchase with a credit card.
- 59% say their concern has prevented them from making an online purchase at some point.
- 26% say they or someone they know has been the victim of identity theft.
