On Eve of Wisconsin Primary, A Look Ahead To The General Election
SurveyUSA polled Friday through Sunday in Wisconsin, where 40 GOP and 74 Democratic delegates are at stake in tomorrow’s primaries, asking registered voters how they would vote in hypothetical general-election matchups between Republican frontrunner John McCain and each of the two Democratic candidates vying for their party’s nomination:


In head-to-head matchups today, McCain defeats Hillary Clinton by 7 points, turning Wisconsin red for the first time since 1984, when Ronald Reagan beat Walter Mondale by 9 points in Wisconsin.
Barack Obama defeats McCain today by 10 points, keeping Wisconsin blue.
