On Average, 38% are In Debt — Even More in Wisconsin, Missouri, Ohio, Iowa & Minnesota

More than 40% of households in Wisconsin, Missouri, Ohio, Iowa and Minnesota are in debt, according to just completed SurveyUSA polling of 600 adults in each of 14 states.
Just 19% in Ohio say they are getting ahead, lowest of any of the 14 states surveyed. By contrast, 31% in Oregon are getting ahead.
States that voted for Republican George W. Bush in 2004 are shown in red. States that voted for Democrat John Kerry in 2004 are shown in blue.
