Alabama and South Carolina homeowners are behind in their mortgage payments more than other states polled by SurveyUSA. Residents of Kansas are the least likely to be behind on their mortgage.

States that voted for Republican George W. Bush in 2004 are shown in red. States that voted for Democrat John Kerry in 2004 are shown in blue.
