California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s approval ratings fell for the third consecutive month in SurveyUSA’s monthly tracking. Schwarzenegger had a positive approval rating for eleven of the twelve months of 2007, ending the year with a 55% approval and 42% disapproval rating. Subtracting disapproval from approval yields Net Job Approval; Schwarzenegger’s was at Plus 13 at the end of 2007.

In January of 2008, Schwarzenegger declared a fiscal emergency due to an estimated $8 billion budget shortfall and called for 10% across-the-board budget cuts, including $4.4 billion from K-12 education. That month, his Net Job Approval fell to Minus 2, it’s lowest point in over a year.

In February, his Net Job Approval continued to slip, falling to Minus 6.

Today, with approval at 42% and disapproval at 56%, Schwarzenegger’s Net Job Approval is at Minus 14, its lowest point since July of 2006.
