In an election for US Senator from Virginia today, 10/20/08, Democrat Mark Warner defeats Republican Jim Gilmore 60% to 36%, to fill the open seat left by departing Republican John Warner. This is a pick-up for the Democrats. There is some movement among men to Gilmore, which mirrors movement among men to Republican John McCain at the top of the ticket in VA.
