Obama Steady, 2:1 Atop McCain, in Empire State

In an election for President of the United States in New York state today, six days until votes are counted, Democrat Barack Obama defeats Republican John McCain 62% to 33%, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for WABC-TV New York, WGRZ-TV Buffalo, WNYT-TV Albany, and WHEC-TV Rochester. Obama takes the majority of the vote among both men and women, across all age groups, and among all ethnic groups. 1 in 3 Republicans cross-over to vote for Obama. 800 New York adults were interviewed 10/27/08 and 10/28/08. Of them, 724 were registered to vote. Of them, 633 were determined by SurveyUSA to be likely to vote in the general election.
