President Barack Obama starts off with a 78% approval rating in the Empire State, according to SurveyUSA’s latest poll conducted exclusively for WABC-TV New York, WNYT-TV Albany, and WHEC-TV Rochester. 11% of New Yorkers disapprove of Obama’s performance, producing a Plus 67 Net Approval for the new president.

Last month, President George W. Bush finished his term with an 80% disapproval rating, his lowest in 42 months of tracking. President Bush held an 18% approval rating and Minus 62 Net Approval.
