South Carolina: 60% Think Governor Sanford Should Resign

In a press conference yesterday, South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford admitted to having an affair with a woman from Argentina. SurveyUSA went into the field to ask adults in South Carolina what they thought.
- 60% think the Governor should resign. 34% feel he should remain in office.
- 63% think the Governor did not have the right to vacation without informing the public…29% think he did have the right.
- 77% think the Governor did not have the right to vacation without informing his staff…16% think he did have the right.
In the long run, 37% feel the event’s surrounding Sanford’s trip will end his political career…47% say it will hurt his career…15% feel it will have no long-term effect.
