Much Polling, Not Much Movement, in Virginia’s Top 3 Contests

SurveyUSA Breaking News - 139 days ago

One week until votes are counted in Virginia, steady-as-she-goes in the contests for Governor, Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General. Republicans lead by at least 2 touchdowns in all 3 contests, with no consequential movement week-on-week, according to this exclusive SurveyUSA poll conducted for WDBJ-TV Roanoke, WJHL-TV Tri Cities, WJLA-TV Washington DC, and WTVR-TV Richmond.

The governor’s contest is being tracked by at least 10 public opinion polling firms, including The Washington Post, Public Policy Polling, Mason-Dixon, Christopher Newport University, Research 2000, Rasmussen Reports and Insider Advantage. All show Republicans leading. None show Republicans leading by as much as SurveyUSA. There is little doubt who will win these contests when votes are counted in 7 days. There is considerable doubt that Republicans will be able to run up the score in a state that Democrat Barack Obama carried by 6 points one year ago.
