Santa Clara Voters Poised to Approve New Stadium for 49ers
In an election in the city of Santa Clara CA midway through Early Voting, city voters appear ready to approve Measure J, to build a new stadium in Santa Clara for the NFL 49ers, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for KPIX-TV in San Francisco.
56% tell SurveyUSA they are certain to vote Yes on Measure J; 40% are certain to vote No. The measure is backed by a majority of men and women … young and old … whites, Hispanics and Asians … Democrats and Republicans.
Among the 37% of voters who tell SurveyUSA they have already voted, the measure passes 2:1. Opposition to ballot measures typically increases as Election Day approaches. In states with a month of Early Voting, it is unclear if the same electoral dynamics apply.
