In each contest, roughly 8 in 10 partisan voters vote for their party’s candidate, but Independents strongly favor the Republican — by margins of more than 2:1 in the Governor, Senate, Lieutenant Governor, and School Superintendent races, and by a smaller but still significant 18 points in the race for Attorney General.
