New York City: 41% Think Congressman Weiner Should Remain in Office

After Congressman Anthony Weiner admitted to having inappropriate online relationships,weiner WABC-TV in New York asked adults in New York City if Weiner should remain in office or resign.

41% said he should remain in office. 46% feel Weiner should resign. Republicans and Independents want Weiner to resign by 5:3; Democrats are evenly divided. What impact does the story on Weiner’s chances of becoming mayor of New York City? 46% say it is too soon to say if they would vote for or against Weiner in an election for mayor; 43% say they would vote against him no matter who else is on the ballot. Just 11% today are prepared to vote for Weiner no matter who his opponent may be.
